The Clungene COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test is based on a lateral flow immunoassay method and is designed to qualitatively detect acute COVID-19 infection. For this purpose, the healthcare professional or a trained operator takes a nasal, nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swab from the patient and obtains the results after approximately 15 minutes using the direct swab test method.
All materials required for the test are included in the scope of delivery, so that the Clungene antigen rapid test can be used quickly, flexibly and independently of location. It is therefore ideal for use at the point of care, i.e. near-patient laboratory diagnostics. An additional laboratory as well as further equipment and materials are therefore not required for test performance and subsequent evaluation. Due to its rapid, flexible and safe use, the Clungene Antigen rapid test thus also makes a decisive contribution to the rapid containment of the coronavirus and to the detection and breaking of infection chains. The test is also characterized by a very high clinical specificity and sensitivity.
Quick & easy testing with the Clungene COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test
The Clungene Antigen Rapid Test is particularly easy to perform. Nevertheless, it should only be performed by healthcare professionals. To collect the nasopharyngeal swab, the patient first tilts his head back 70°. The healthcare professional then inserts the swab provided parallel to the palate through the nostril until resistance is heard or the distance corresponds to those from the ear to the patient's nostril. The latter indicates contact with the nasopharynx. At this point, the swab is gently rolled and rubbed to pick up secretions.
Oroharyngeal swab collection is not mandatory, provided the swab tip is saturated with fluid after the nasopharyngeal swab. However, if the collection from the nostril caused difficulties and the swab is not sufficiently saturated, you can use the same for the oropharyngeal swab.
In addition to these two swab methods, the test also allows nasal sampling, which is particularly comfortable for patients.
